(AUGUST 9, 2007, PERRIS, CA) Santa
Maria, California Sprint Car star “Showtime” Danny Sheridan became the first
driver to submit an entry for the 12th Annual Budweiser Oval
Nationals at Southern California’s Perris Auto Speedway on November 1st,
2nd and 3rd. Temecula
Valley Pipe & Supply will present the show that will culminate with a 40-lap
main event that pays a whopping $30,000.00 to the winner.
Sheridan, a popular 32-year old, will be wheeling his familiar Kittle
Plumbing blue #18 when the Oval Nationals kicks off on November 1st.
The former IMCA (1998) and Bandit Sprint Car Series (1999) champion
currently sits fourth in the 2007 Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series standings
with one main event win.
Sheridan will be seeking his seventh A Main Oval Nationals start.
His best finish in the famous race was a 12th in 2004.
The Oval Nationals is five days of great racing and fun.
Each night is a full-point paying race for the Lucas Oil National Sprint
CAR and CRA Sprint Car Series. The
festivities will kickoff on Tuesday, October 30th, with the 2nd
Annual Oval Nationals Golf Classic at the Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Course. On
Wednesday night October 31st, there will be a practice that is free
to all fans in the grandstands. The
Thursday and Friday preliminary nights will include qualifying for all cars each
night, along with heat races and main events.
Saturday festivities will kickoff at noon with a BIG BUCKS Corn Hole
(Beanbag) Tournament and will culminate with a night full of main events
including the $30,000.00 finale. Saturday’s
show will be taped for the VS Channel’s “Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour,”
which is available to more than 74,000,000 homes nationwide.
Oh yeah, almost forgot! Some of
the best parties in racing take place every night in the campgrounds after the
races.

Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds (home of the
Southern California Fair), approximately one hour east of Los Angeles and one
hour North of San Diego. To get to the track, take the 215 freeway, exit
at the Ramona Expressway and go two miles east to the fairgrounds.
