Haubstadt, IN. June 4, 2007... For the first time this season the drivers
in the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will have the opportunity to
compete twice in the same weekend. With $3,000 to win on Friday night and
$5,050.50 to win on Saturday night top drivers will be on hand both nights to
compete for the prize money. The existing tight points battle between 6 or more
drivers will further ensure dynamic contests each night at the two tracks
involved.
Action gets underway at the Morgan County Speedway at Jacksonville, IL, on
June 8th. The Friday night event will be held on the ¼ mile oval at the Morgan
County Fairgrounds promoted this year by Bill West Jr. It is high banked and is
known throughout the Midwest as a venue for sprint cars. The Midwest Sprint Car
Series competes without wings. These 410 sprint cars operate at the extreme edge
of advanced non-wing racing technology.
If you would like to get a feel for this excitement, Friday night just might
be the time. In a special promotion at the Morgan County Speedway.
Incarmania.com will be set up with a booth in the
grandstand area. Fans in attendance will have an opportunity to purchase a
ticket involving the use of an in-car camera during the MSCS feature event.
The holder of the winning ticket will get to choose the sprint car that the
camera will be mounted on. They will also receive a free DVD with footage of the
race to enjoy. The footage will also go on the website at INCARMANIA.
The last Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series event to be held at the
Morgan County Speedway was back in 2005. The winner on July 29th of that year
was Derek O'Dell of East Alton, IL. This event at
Jacksonville is currently the only MSCS race in Illinois this season and a great
opportunity for the Illinois based drivers. Mat Neely, of Robinson, IL, has won
an MSCS feature already this season. The
MSCS roster shows drivers from 8 states! A fourth of the total number are from
the state of Illinois.
TRI-STATE CELEBRATES 50
Saturday night the MSCS drivers will make their third appearance of the
season at Tri-State Speedway. This one is very special. It has been set aside as
the 50th Anniversary Race at the Speedway. The speedway opened in June of 1957.
The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car drivers will be running for 50 laps to
headline the event.
At the conclusion of this particular event Saturday night, one driver will
forever hold the honor of winning a race to recognize all those that have ever
been held. One face will represent a myriad of
winning faces holding the checkered flag and saluting the fans at what must now
be well over a thousand Tri-State main events.
