Haubstadt, IN - May 13, 2007. The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series
held it's first event of the Season at Tri-State Speedway on May 6th with Mat
Neely of Robinson, Il, the winner. As a result Neely leads the MSCS National
Points Standings now in release.
The top six drivers in the series are separated at this time by a mere six
points. Alex Shanks, the three time series titleholder is in that sixth
position. Tightly grouped between Neely and Shanks are a talented group of
potential challengers. Brady Short, Kevin Briscoe, Kyle Cummins, and Kyle
Wissmiller are already in position to challenge for this year's championship.
It will take continued MSCS appearances and some hard driving beginning with
the very first heat race on any given evening. The next event for MSCS is
scheduled for Western Kentucky Speedway at Nebo on Saturday evening May 19th.
This is the first of 4 MSCS events to be held in the Bluegrass state this season
and the first of two at Western Kentucky Speedway.
