Haubstadt, IN. (Feb. 1, 2007) The schedule for the 2007 racing season is
now accessible on line at www.mscssprints.com.
A copy of that schedule listing all events accompanies this announcement to the
various news media. The opening event for 2007 will be at Florence Speedway in
Union, KY, and pays $3,000 to win the feature. The MSCS Sprints put on an
exciting show on the half-mile track there in 2005.
The MSCS sprint cars will appear three more times in the Commonwealth of
Kentucky this season. A very successful first ever visit at Western Kentucky
Speedway in Nebo last season will be followed by two more visits this year. The
first will be on May 19th with the second annual Kentucky Sprint
Championship to follow on August 11th. Just a week before on Friday,
August 3rd, the MSCS Sprints will appear on the high banks of the fast 3/8s mile
Paducah International Raceway.
One other Friday night show appears on the schedule for 07. The Morgan County
Speedway at Jacksonville, IL, will showcase the MSCS drivers on June 8th.
This show is a great opportunity for Illinois and Missouri drivers to race on
familiar ground. MSCS has raced at the track during prior seasons when the
facility was known as Jacksonville Raceway.
Tri-State Speedway will host six events again this season. Dates are on May 6th,
May 27th, June 9th, July 8th, August 4th,
and September 2nd. The Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend
events follow a tradition of enriched purses. The Labor Day Classic will pay
$5,000 to win this season and return to Sunday night on the schedule. The July 8th
Tri-State Speedway event is co-sanctioned with KISS. It will actually be the
final event on the KISS schedule held to crown the 2007 King of Indiana Sprints.
The 3rd annual Hoosier Sprint Nationals will be held a week later this year.
The 50 lap event will see the green light on Saturday Aug. 4th. The
winner will receive $10,000. Tri-State Speedway will have a second fifty-lap
race for the MSCS sprints on June 9th. That night the Helfrich family
will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tri-State Speedway's opening
back in 1957. The 50th Anniversary feature will pay $5,050.50 to win.
The season will close on Saturday night October 6th at
Lawrenceburg Speedway with the Lawrenceburg Nationals and $10,000 on the line as
the winner's share. The event established a MSCS series' record of 70 entries in
2006. It is a season making opportunity with the MSCS Points Championship also
on the line to provide added inspiration to all the top drivers.
MSCS officials are continuing with aspects of the scheduling process. The
schedule is subject to change and the present schedule will be updated if
changes occur. Drivers should note that past $1500 to win minimum purses now pay
at least $2,000 to win. The winner's share posted for all events on the schedule
already exceed $50,000 this season.
