Haubstadt,
IN. (Jan. 18, 2007).
The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series is once again pleased to
announce that Engler Machine and Tool of Princeton, IN, will be a principal
sponsor for MSCS in 2007. The Rookie of the Year Award will be funded through
sponsorship provided by Engler Machine and Tool.
The business first sponsored the Rookie Award for MSCS in 2003.
Business owner Tim Engler had the
following comments. “I feel like
the Midwest Sprint Car Series is one of the most competitive series that a
rookie can start out in. In racing
we always want to encourage rookie drivers and our sponsorship is intended as an
incentive for them to run with MSCS. I
believe in the series. I am happy
that Engler Machine and Tool will be a part of what the guys at MSCS are trying
to do for sprint car racing.”
The company builds and markets high performance products.
Engler products and services include fuel injection systems, fuel pump
testing, and custom machining. The
business began back in 1980. More
information on products is available at www.englermachine.com and the site can also be located using
the link provided on the list of sponsors on the MSCS web site.
Tim Engler the driver traveled a wide loop as a participant in outlaw
winged sprint car racing. He found
the top five in the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car standings during
those years. Locally he
finished in the top five three times in the sprint car division points at
Tri-State Speedway. In December of
2006, Tim Engler was honored by being named to the National Tractor Pullers’
Hall of Fame at the NTPA Banquet in Columbus, OH.
He collected 13 titles in the sport of tractor pulling.
The Engler Machine and Tool Rookie Title chase adds a second dimension to
the series points battle that develops each season.
In the six years of its existence MSCS has had only one driver that
managed to win the overall Points Championship as a rookie.
That driving feat was accomplished by Mitch Wissmiller in 2002.
Otherwise it has been a battle within a battle as rookie drivers strive
to be the best of those breaking into the series while hoping to also secure a
high overall finish. The top
rookies in MSCS each year have always proved to be very competitive.
The outstanding past Rookie of the Year Award winners also finished 3rd,
1st, 7th, 12th, 4th, and 6th
in the overall series’standings.
The Engler Machine and Tool Rookie of the Year Award now waits for one
special driver. Every race driver
was a rookie once but not every race driver was the Rookie of the Year.
