August
27, 2007--- A 40-lap feature event is on tap when the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars return to the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway this Saturday night.
Tony Jones, winner of five features already this season, continues to lead the series standings in quest of his first USAC title. He has won three of the last four races at The PAS and is not in jeopardy of losing his point lead this weekend.
Mike Spencer, who is second in the current standings, has won three of the last six series races, including one at Perris, and should be a top threat to Jones Saturday.
Still seeking that elusive first 2007 win are “top-10” drivers Rickie Gaunt, Rip Williams, David Cardey and Josh Ford. Gaunt has three seconds and three thirds, while Williams has a second and two thirds. Cardey has two seconds and a third, while Ford’s best finish so far is a sixth.
