August 13, 2007 --- Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. continues to whittle away at Tony Jones’ Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car point lead, which still stand at 167 points despite Spencer’s recent string of victories. The series continues this Saturday night at its “home” track, Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.
Spencer and his Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply Maxim/Shaver led the final eight laps of Saturday’s race at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway to post his third win in the last four series races. Jones was second ahead of Danny Faria Jr., Rickie Gaunt and Rip Williams. Danny Sheridan led the first 22 laps but finished 11th.
A 40-lap feature is on tap at The PAS Saturday.
