(July 8, 2007) The United States Auto Club (USAC) announced today that a mutual decision was made with Kings Speedway (Hanford, Calif.) officials to postpone the July 28 Lucas Oil USAC/CRA sprint car event.
Although no official date has been determined at this time, both parties remain optimistic that a suitable date later in the year can be agreed upon. “We just felt that it was in the best interest of our fans and participants to find a date that would attract a greater number of our regular CRA teams and encourage more local participation,” said USAC/CRA Series Coordinator Chris Morgan. “Based on my conversations with Kings Speedway promoter Frank Diaz, I’m confident that we will be announcing a new date in the near future.”
The next Lucas Oil USAC/CRA sprint car event is slated for August 4 at the Perris (Cailf.) Auto Speedway. Having recently won his fourth main event of the year, Tony Jones, Norco, Calif., heads into that event with a 177 point lead over Temecula, California’s Mike Spencer.
