July 2, 2007 – Fireworks, on and off the race track, are expected
Wednesday night when the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars take to the Perris (Calif.) Auto
Speedway.
Tony Jones of Norco, Calif. will aim for his fourth victory of the 2007
season, which would put him at the top of the win list this year. His three
victories so far have come at Perris (2) and Las Vegas, Nev. He finds himself
with a comfortable 143-point lead over series runner-up Mike Spencer going
into Wednesday’s races.
A fireworks sky concert will accompany the racing program on the 1/2-mile
dirt oval.
Defending series champion Cory Kruseman of Ventura, Calif. also has three
wins so far this year, coming at Hanford, Tulare and Perris. He is currently
seventh in the latest series points.
