JUNE 11, 2007 --- Tony Jones continues to pace the Lucas Oil
USAC/CRA Sprint Car standings despite a seventh-place finish in Saturday
night’s 30-lap race at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway. He’ll try to extend
that lead this Saturday when the series visits the Santa Maria (Calif.)
Speedway.
Cory Kruseman, the only three-time CRA winner so far this season, and Rip
Williams, still seeking his first 2007 victory, won last year’s USAC/CRA races
at the Santa Maria oval.
Kruseman, of Ventura, Calif., passed Scotty Weir on the second lap of
Saturday’s race at Perris and led the rest of the way in his Agromin
Soil/Sander Engineering Bullet/Mopar. Mike Spencer, Danny Sheridan, Blake Miller
and Rickie Gaunt trailed him to the checkered flag. Kruseman, the defending
series champion, currently ranks seventh in the 2007 standings.
