MAY 7, 2007 --- Rip Williams of Yorba Linda, Calif. and Rickie Gaunt of
Torrance, Calif. remain the lone drivers in the “top-10” in standings
continuing to seek their initial 2007 series feature win as the series returns
to Perris (
Calif.
) Auto Speedway this Saturday.
Williams has over 100 career Sprint car feature wins to his credit but
his best finishes so far this year have been a second, third, fourth and fifth,
all at Perris! Gaunt, who won a feature at Perris last year, has a second, a
third and three fourths so far this season.
Williams is no stranger to victory lane at The PAS, having scored one win
in 2006, two in 2005 and three in 2004.
Tony Jones enters Saturday’s race with a 79-point lead over Mike
Spencer. Scotty Weir, the series’ only two-time race winner so far, ranks
fifth in the current standings.
