APRIL 30, 2007...The USAC/CRA Sprint Cars will return to Perris (Calif.)
Auto Speedway May 12 and when they do Scotty Weir will be on the spot.
Weir became the first driver to repeat as a series feature winner last
Saturday night, pacing all 30 laps in his ITI Performance/HK Construction Bullet
to beat Mike Spencer, Blake Miller, Rip Williams and Johnny Rodriguez. The
victory ended a USAC record-tying streak of 11 different winners at the start of
the season.
So far, Williams is the only driver in the “top-10” in the standings
without a win this year. With over 100 career Sprint car feature wins under his
belt, that could end May 12.
Tony Jones, Saturday’s fastest qualifier, finished seventh and holds a
79-point lead over Spencer in the new series standings.
