APRIL 23, 2007 --- All but 11 drivers in the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint
Car Series have a chance to make USAC history Saturday as the series resumes at
the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.
In 1994 11 different drivers won races to start the USAC Modified Series.
That set a mark which has not been surpassed in USAC’s 52-year racing history.
So far this year 11 drivers have won the 11 USAC/CRA feature events. Not
included in that list is Rip Williams, who ranks eighth in the standings and has
over 100 career Sprint car triumphs to his credit.
A 30-lap feature is slated at the Perris oval and Tony Jones of Norco, Calif.
is guaranteed to retain his point lead over Mike Spencer, which stands at 94,
with 74 available Saturday.
The 11 drivers who have found USAC/CRA victory lanes so far this year are:
Darren Hagen, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Garrett Hansen, Spencer, Jones, Josh Wise,
Charles Davis Jr., R.J. Johnson, Cory Kruseman, Scotty Weir and Danny Sheridan.
