Sapulpa, Okla - August 17, 2007... California native Robert Ballou took the high
road to victory lane Wednesday night at the Creek County Speedway to score his
second career Sprint Bandits Tour ‘N Topless main event win. The 18 year-old
charger started the 30 lap feature from the 10th position and maneuvered his way
forward to lead a California sweep of the podium during Round #3 of the TNT
Sprint Bandits Midwest swing.
Starting in row five of the feature, Robert put the MPHG Promotions, THR &
Sons, Circle Racing Wheels No. 81 on the top of the 1/4 mile Creek County
Speedway and was able to move forward quickly. A number of early cautions slowed
the pace of the contest, but Robert kept his composure and was up to the top
five within a few laps and on lap seven took over the lead from fellow Nor Cal
native Tim Kaeding.
After taking the lead Robert had no problems and drove away from the field to
pick up the win aboard the Gardemeyer Finish Carpentry, Swimming Pool
Perfections, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Pro Shocks, Don Ott Racing Engines powered
Maxim. The youngster’s win came over Tim and Bud Kaeding to lead an all Nor
Cal podium.
Robert will finish off the 3rd annual Sprint Bandits TNT Midwest Swing with a
doubleheader at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KN which begins tonight.
He currently ranks third in the TNT Midwest Swing points, 10 digits behind
leader Tim Kaeding and just two points behind second place Bud Kaeding. Last
year Robert brought home a second place finish during the opening night at
Lakeside and this year will look to bring home the $10,000 top prize on
Saturday.
