CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (September 15, 2007) – Current American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region points leader Jeremy Sherman outlasted Charles Davis, Jr., to win Saturday night's 30-lap feature at Central Arizona Raceway.
While the victory marked Sherman's tenth ASCS Canyon Region triumph of the year aboard Fred Bryan's F&E Development No. 77 Maxim, it was his first in three attempts at Central Arizona Raceway this year.
Shon Deskins and Matt Rossi led the feature field to the green flag, but it was third-starter Sherman and fifth-starter Davis soon taking over the top two positions.
Sherman and Davis proceeded to dice for the lead over the entire distance of the non-stop affair, with Sherman ultimately denying Davis a third consecutive ASCS Canyon Region triumph.
Josh Pelkey took the show position behind Sherman and Davis, with Rossi and Deskins rounding out the top five.
Rookie phenom Jeremy Reagles was sixth, with Mike Leslie charging from 16th to claim seventh. Andrew Reinbold, Chris Bonneau and Bob Ream, Jr., completed the top ten.
Heat race victories were claimed by Reagles, Mike Bonneau and Pelkey.
