TULSA, Okla. (September 10, 2007) – The best in wingless Sprint Car racing action moves on to Casa Grande, AZ, on Saturday night as the American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region makes its third stop of the season at Central Arizona Raceway.
While current series points leader Jeremy Sherman of Surprise, AZ, has topped nine of 13 events this season, he has been shut out of Central Arizona Raceway victory lane in two previous series stops.
Fifteen-year-old Chad Boat of Phoenix topped the series May 12 stop at Casa Grande, with Buckeye, Arizona's Charles Davis, Jr., posting the first of his three series wins during the June 23 event at Central Arizona Raceway.
After missing one event early in the year, Davis has climbed back up to second in points, 147 markers off Sherman's lead pace. Davis carries a two-race win streak into Saturday's card at Central Arizona Raceway, with both triumphs coming aboard Jim Massey's No. 50 DRC machine.
Bob Ream, Jr., of Glendale, AZ, is just two points behind Davis entering Saturday's event, with Mike Leslie of Litchfield Park, AZ, 18 more points back in fourth.
Josh Pelkey of Peoria, AZ, enters Saturday's event ranked fifth, just two points ahead of Chandler, AZ, racer Andrew Reinbold. The balance of the current top ten includes Bernie Smith (Glendale), Seainn Hendricsen (Mesa), Shon Deskins (Waddell) and Mike Martin (Yuma).
Once again, $50 certificates will be awarded to each of the heat race winners, with Racing Optics sponsoring heat race one, Parker Store sponsoring heat race two, Kenz & Leslie/BG Chemicals sponsoring heat race three and Sunoco sponsoring heat race four. Arizona Race Mart sponsors the Pole Dash, while Sunoco will also award a $50 certificate to each "B" Main winner in ASCS Canyon Region action this year.
Saturday's action at Central Arizona Raceway fires off at 7:00 p.m.

The ASCS Canyon Region brings the best in wingless Sprint Car racing to Arizona in 2007 with a slate of 24 events. In addition to Manzanita Speedway, the series will also be in action at Tucson's USA Race Park and Casa Grande's Central Arizona Raceway over the course of the season.
The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with the series set to sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
