TULSA, Okla. (July 2, 2007) – Due to scheduling conflicts at the Central Arizona Raceway fairgrounds facility, the American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region event originally scheduled for this Saturday night, July 7, has been postponed.
The event has been reset for Saturday night, October 27. The October 27 event, the fourth stop of the year at Central Arizona Raceway for the ASCS Canyon Region, will mark the series 2007 championship finale.
Chad Boat and Charles Davis, Jr., have been victorious in the two previous stops at Central Arizona Raceway, with the series set to return on September 15 as well.
Action for the ASCS Canyon Region continues on Tuesday night, July 3, with the Firecracker 50 atop Manzanita Speedway's 1/3-mile clay oval.
Following Tuesday's event, the teams will have an opportunity to regroup and reload for the championship stretch drive, with the next event set for Manzanita Speedway's ½-mile clay oval on August 4.
The ASCS Canyon Region brings the best in wingless Sprint Car racing to Arizona in 2007 with a slate of 24 events. In addition to Manzanita Speedway, the series will also be in action at Tucson's USA Race Park and Casa Grande's Central Arizona Raceway over the course of the season.
The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with the series set to sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
