Davis Charges to ASCS Canyon Win at Casa Grande

GRANDE, Ariz. (June 23, 2007) –
Charles Davis, Jr., has been knocking on the door all year long.
He finally broke through that door to capture his first American Sprint
Car Series Canyon Region feature win of the year in Saturday night's 30-lap
feature at Central Arizona Raceway. After
posting five runner-up finishes in the opening eight events of the season, Davis
took command when early pacesetter Bobby Taylor was forced pitside with rearend
woes and led the rest of the way aboard the Don Ott-powered All State Utility
Construction No. 32az F5-chassis. Davis
was chased to the checkered flag by Chris Bonneau, who posted his top finish of
the year in ASCS Canyon Region competition.
Seainn Hendricsen earned his first podium finish of the season by
claiming the show position, with Shon Deskins and Bob Ream, Jr., rounding out
the top five. After
winning the opening seven of eight ASCS Canyon Region events this year, Jeremy
Sherman encountered engine problems in heat race action and was unable to make
the call for feature action. The
only event that Sherman hadn't won this season also occurred at Central Arizona
Raceway. Mike
Martin also scratched for the balance of the card after heat race engine woes,
while Josh Pelkey, who entered the event ranked second in points, scratched for
