Sherman Strikes
Again in ASCS Canyon Region Action at USA Race Park |

TUCSON,
Ariz. (May 5, 2007) – It takes a lot to keep Surprise, AZ, racer Jeremy
Sherman out of American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region victory lane.
And his foes haven't deciphered the winning equation yet as Sherman
charged to his fourth consecutive triumph in as many tries in Saturday night's
25-lap feature at United Sports Arizona Race Park. For
the second time in four outings, Sherman spotted the field a four row or more
advantage by starting tenth. But
the two-time and reigning Arizona state champion needed less than a handful of
laps to slice through the field and overtake pole starter Charles Davis, Jr.,
for the point. Sherman
survived a late caution to take the win aboard Fred Bryan's F&E
Development/Impact Racing No. 77 Maxim, with Davis taking runner-up honors.
Bob Ream, Jr., took the show position, with 11th-starter Mike
Leslie and ninth-starter Josh Pelkey rounding out the top five. Seainn
Hendricsen crossed the stripe sixth, with Bernie Smith, 15-year-old Chad Boat,
Chris Edwards and 16-year-old rookie contender Nick Aiuto competing the top ten. Making
his ASCS Canyon Region debut, Nathan High held the third position until the 15th
circuit when he tagged the frontstretch wall and went for a wild ride.
High was uninjured. Josh
Foster took a tumble in the feature as well and was transported to an area
hospital for observation. Davis,
R.J. Johnson, J.T. Imperial and Ream topped heat race action for the 33-car
