APRIL 21, 2007 --- The Arizona Sprint Cars held their second race of the year
Saturday night at Canyon Raceway, and it was a hard fought win for Jeff Henry.
Bruce St. James jumped into a early lead in the 25 lap main event, and he looked
like he was going to steal the show. However, a yellow flag waved on lap 14 to
slow the action. That yellow allowed Chris Bonneau and Henry to close in on St.
James.
On the restart, Henry went to the bottom of the track to take the lead from
St. James who had been running away from the field on the top side. The racing
was close and fast through out the entire night, and the main event was no
different. Brian Hacker was running a great race once again as he was patiently
picking off one car at a time. By the end of the race, Hacker was the fastest
car on the track, but he ran out of time.
Henry crossed the checkered flag about 6 car lengths ahead of Hacker. The
rest of top five were St. James, Brain Swinehart, and Paul Norbury. The next
race for the Arizona Sprint Cars, and Brain Hacker, the new point’s leader is
on May 26th at Canyon Raceway.
