June 6, 2006...The USAC Western Sprint Car series will return to Altamont Raceway Park in Tracy, Calif. June 17 with a 50-lap feature on tap as part of a USAC “tripleheader” also featuring the Western Midgets and California Pavement Ford Focuses. The Sprint race is co-sanctioned by CASA and is the second of four on tap this year at the 1/2-mile paved oval.
Bradley Galedrige, currently second in the series standings, won the May race at Tracy and trails Tony Hunt by 21 points after finishing third in Saturday’s 50-lapper at Madera (Calif.) Speedway.
Defending series champion Kody Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. won the Madera feature in his Keith Williams DDS/DRC Eagle/Chevy, leading the final 29 laps after passing Mike Murgoitio on lap 22. Brian McClish finished second ahead of Galedrige, series point leader and fast qualifier Tony Hunt and Matt
DeMartini.
