(Oxnard, Ca 9-5-06) Saturday
night September 9, at 5:30pm marks the return of the mighty USAC/CRA 410 Sprint
Cats to Ventura Raceway’s 1/5 mile clay oval.
These are the fastest cars that race here at Ventura.
Along with the USAC/CRA Sprints, VRA Senior Sprints will also run a full
program of racing.
USAC/CRA Sprints are 800 hp open wheeled cars that can hit
speeds of over 80mph as they race around Ventura’s oval.
Led by point leader Damion Gardner, Cory Kruseman, Rip Williams, Mike
Kirby and a host of other outstanding drivers this racing group always puts on
some of the best and most competitive racing seen at Ventura.
The program will include qualifying sessions, heat races, semi mains and
a 30 lap feature event that is sure to keep all the fans in attendance on the
edge of their seats.
Also on the card Saturday is the VRA Senior Sprints.
These 360 Sprint Cars are slightly less powerful than the 410’s but
their racing is often just as competitive.
The other major difference between the two groups racing Saturday is the
fact that the Seniors are all over 45 years of age.
Point leader, and past series champion Ron Bach leader the Seniors into
Saturday’s competition. Others scheduled to compete are Bob Alderman, Wiley Miller,
Ron Butler, Tim Moon, Steve Stasa and a host of others.
Admission prices for this special event are $18.00 for
adults, $15.00 for Senors/Military/Juniors, $7.00 for kids 7—12 and kids 6 and
under are Free. For more
