February 21, 2006...Nextel Cup fans love to bring their radio scanners to
the events and listen to all the “hoopla” going on. Now, Thunderbowl race fans will have the opportunity, on a
smaller scale, to listen to the PA announcer and the officials during the events
with their radio scanners.
Starting at this weekend’s Inaugural National Sprint Tour
two-day extravaganza at the 1/3-mile clay facility, race fans will be able to
listen to the “blow-by-blow” description of every race and qualifying by the
PA announcer through a new FM transmitter at the track.
All the race fans have to do is bring their FM headphones,
FM radio, with an earpiece or any FM receiver, and enjoy the live broadcast for
all the races throughout the season.
Prior to the races this Friday, the FM channel being used
by track personnel will be announced and all the fans have to do is tune their
FM Radio to the selected channel and enjoy all the excitement of the live call.
Fans will be able to hear the PA Announcer when he
describes the battles between NST stars Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Jason
Meyers, Danny Lasoski, California talented drivers like Brent Kaeding, and
home-town boys Mike and Danny Faria.
The system will be used at many of the Golden State
Challenge Series facilities, including Tulare, during the 2006 season and the FM
channels will be posted on the Golden State Series Web site as they become
available.
Good tickets for the NST inaugural event are still
available with prices ranging from $25 to $35 for Friday’s preliminary events,
and from $30 to $40 for Saturday’s program with special two-night ticket
packages available. Visit Thunderbowl’s website (www.thunderbowlraceway.com)
for a view of the seating chart, select your favorite location and call
559-688-0909 for reservations. Credit
cards are accepted. Ticket will
also be available on race nights at the box office.
Qualifying begins at 6:00 pm, racing at 7 pm.
Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway is located at the corner of
“K” St. and Bardsley in the heart of Tulare.
