March 20, 2006...
Once again today
violent thunderstorms and intense rain pounded Twin Cities Speedway in
Marysville. The Playday practice session scheduled for Tuesday March 21st
has been postponed again!
The postponed
Playday practice session is now scheduled for next Tuesday March 28th
from 5 to 9 PM. All of this is TENTATIVE at best given the continued
sustained weather problems. If it runs, practice sessions for all types of
dirt track racers will be run round-robin by class. Sprint Cars, Modifieds,
Stock Cars and MiniStocks will run sessions. Other classes are welcome and
will be run with their own type of car.
Promoter Greg
Kearns was less than optimistic about Saturday night’s opening point race,
“We’ll see what the weather brings our way and make a call on Thursday.”
The biggest problem is that the storms have perfectly impacted the speedway in
such a way as to prevent meaningful repair and clean up in between the
deluges.
Regarding the
loss of point races Kearns commented that there are several available make-up
dates for point races. “If we lose a point race there are a number of dates
that we could make them up. We’ll just have to see how it goes.”
Hopefully, TCS will host Opening Day on this Saturday March
25th. The Hunt Magneto Wingless Warriors Sprint Car Series and the Riebes
Racing Series Stock Cars will headline a 4-division show. The TCS Mini Stocks
and the SORA Sprint 100s will also be featured.
Grandstand gates open at 5PM
with racing getting the green flag at 7PM.

Be at TCS early and often this year!!
