ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPRINT FINALE SEPT. 16; |

Sept. 5,, 2006...Defending and former USAC/SLVRA Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champions Jimmy Wysong and Jim Waters will settle the 2006 title in the Young Automotive Group-sponsored series Sept. 16 at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wysong leads Waters by 30 points in defense of his 2005 championship. Waters sliced into the lead somewhat with his third-place finish in Monday’s 40-lap race at RMR. Wysong was eighth. Jeff Bergener of Manti, Utah recorded his second series triumph in Monday’s feature, passing Ryan Burdett on lap 34 and leading the final seven laps. He also led the first 23 laps before Burdett got by to pace the next 10. Trailing Burdett at the checkered flag were Dave Fitzgerald, Waters, Mel Andrus and Mike Gollinger. USAC/SLVRA
