|
August 21, 2006...Jimmy Wysong of Salt Lake City, Utah leads two-time USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champion Jim Waters by 42 points with two races remaining on the 2006 calendar.
The series returns to action September 4 at Rocky Mountain Raceways in the Utah capital and 76 points are available in that program, with a 40-lap feature on tap at the 3/8-mile paved oval.
Wysong has won six times already this season, including Saturday night’s 40-lapper in which he led the final 34 laps after passing Rick Pardee on lap seven. Dave Fitzgerald finished second ahead of Waters, Ryan Burdett and Jeff Bergener.
Wysong won last year’s Rocky Mountain title and now has a record 14 career series victories to his credit.
