April 25, 2006...After losing two April dates due to rain cancellations, SCRA’s 360 c.i. “Wingless Warriors” are set and ready to rumble this Saturday night at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway.
Competing on the same program with the Golden State Challenge series brings a bonus for racing fans as Brent Kaeding, 12-time GSC “King of California” champion, Peter Murphy and Ricci Faria will all do “double duty” and run against the wingless boys. Kaeding, who plans are running several non-winged events, stands atop the SCRA leader board with 69 points, followed by Murphy and Faria, both with 66, after the trio dominating the competition at Chowchilla two weeks ago.
SCRA’s “regulars” Danny Olmstead, Richard Harvey Jr., Jonathan Logan, Evan Suggs, and Davey Pombo are excited to have their winged counterparts compete and have accepted the challenge thrown down by the above-mentioned threesome. “Running against tough competition inspires me and makes me more competitive” said Harvey Jr. He added, “I think the rest of the guys feel the same way.”
Fans are encouraged to bring their FM radios and/or headsets and tune into the trackside chatter between track officials, and to hear the “blow-by-blow” action via the PA announcer.
SCRA will appear at Thunderbowl again on June 24th and July 21/22.
