BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS TO BE TELEVISED!
by Scott Daloisio

(OCTOBER 3, 2006, PERRIS, CA)   The final night of the 11th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals presented by Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply at Perris Auto Speedway on November 4th, will be televised across the United States on the Outdoor Channel’s “USAC Thunder” show.  The date of the telecast has yet to be determined.

“This is a winning situation for everyone involved,” PAS promoter Don Kazarian said.  “The Oval Nationals has been gaining in stature across the country every year and it is time that it gets this great coverage.  This is a fantastic opportunity for the drivers & teams and Perris Auto Speedway.  The great action we see every week will shown across the nation and it will expose everyone’s sponsors to millions of viewers.  And, it is the second time that we have been featured on “USAC Thunder” this season.”

Kazarian is correct about millions of viewers.  The Outdoor Channel is available to more than 24.6 million subscriber homes across the nation via satellite and cable.  “I can’t stress how important this exposure can be to all of the sponsors involved.  I know we plan on taking advantage of it and we hope all of the race teams will do the same.”

The Oval Nationals will encompass six days in 2006.  On Tuesday night, October 31st, there will be a practice session for all entered cars that will be free for fans. November 1st will feature the 1st Annual Oval Nationals Golf Tournament in the daytime followed by the Golf Tournament Banquet that night.  The first night of the racing will be Thursday, November 2nd.  Friday November 3rd will the second night of preliminary action and practice for the quarter-midget races (on the pavement out front) that will be open to all quarter-midget drivers from around the nation.  During the daytime on Saturday, November 4th, the quarter-midget races will take place and the 3rd Annual Pick-A-Part Oval Nationals Bean Bag (Cornhole as it is known in the Midwest) Tournament will be held as well.  Saturday night will feature the main events including the $30,000.00 to win A main.  The week will conclude with the Cory Kruseman Sprint Car Driving School on Sunday, November 5th.
