(APRIL
11, 2006, PERRIS, CA)
Perris Auto Speedway will help fans beat the tax day blues with a $10.40
adult ticket price when Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply presents the USAC/CRA
Sprint Cars on the Riverside County clay oval this Saturday night, April 15th.
“We
hope it will help brighten up a day many dread every year,” PAS promoter Don
Kazarian said. “It is a fun way
to make note of tax day and it is a small reward to the fans who spend their
Saturday nights with us.”
Those
attending will see another great show of the highly competitive, intense series
that continues to grow. Two years
ago when the USAC/CRA series was born, some car counts were in the low twenties.
Through four shows at The PAS this year the field has averaged 43.75
cars. The season high was 57 cars
at the race taped for the Outdoor Channel’s “USAC Thunder” television
show. The low has been 38 cars.
Heading
into this week’s race, Ventura, California’s Cory Kruseman leads Concord,
California’s Damion Gardner by 26-points in the standings.
Two weeks ago at The PAS, the rivals tangled in the main event resulting
in a flat right rear tire for Gardner that sent him careening into the turn two
crash wall and out of the race. He
finished 21st. It was Gardner’s
only finish worse than fourth all season long.
Kruseman went on to finish second that night and as of yet, has not
finished worse than fourth this year.
Last
Saturday night at USA Race Park in Tucson, Arizona, Kruseman halted Gardner’s
fast qualifying streak at seven races (stretching back to last November).
However, in the main event Gardner, who was third fast qualifier, notched
his series leading third win on the year when he beat Buckeye, Arizona’s
Charles Davis Jr. and Kruseman to the checkered flag.
PAS locals Tony Jones of Norco and David Cardey of Riverside rounded out
the top five.
Saturday’s
“Beat the Tax Day Blahs” race will consist of qualifying, four heat races
comprised of ten laps each, preliminary C (if necessary) & B mains and a
30-lap A main event. Advance
tickets are available by calling 1-800-595-4849.
You can also order advance tickets on the Internet at tix.com or
perrisautospeedway.com.

Auto Speedway is located on the freeway close Lake Perris Fairgrounds

Strip. The drag strip is also
located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds. Anyone
with a valid driver’s license, registration and helmet is eligible to race at
