In an announcement today, officials at the Midwest Sprint Car Series
confirmed that series director Barry Boone will be vacating his post as the 2006
season business is concluded.
Under the sponsorship of Hoosier Tire Midwest, MSCS conducted 12 race
events in 2006 with an average car count of 41 sprints.
Over 140 drivers participated and shared in posted purses of
approximately $175,000.
In 2007 the series will be under the leadership of Tom and Loris Helfrich.
The veteran promoters at Tri-State Speedway will be celebrating the
tracks 50th year of providing top quality entertainment to race fans
this summer. Tom
Helrich states, “Barry did a great job for MSCS and he will be missed.
Loris and I are committed to continuing the exciting tradition of the
series as it enters its 7th season.”
“I appreciate Tom and Loris affording me the opportunity to manage MSCS.
This experience has been a dream come true.”
In looking ahead Boone explained, “Now it is time to focus on Boone
Motorsports and my other business interests.”
