Henderson, KY. (June 26) The
Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will swing back into action Saturday
night July 1st with an appearance at the Terre Haute Action Track.
The very best in the world of non-wing sprint car racing will migrate to
the historic half mile to compete for the KISS purse which has a $2,500 dollar
winner’s share. The MSCS-KISS Challenge is on!
The feature race offers to be the deciding factor in this year’s KISS
Championship. It is the final race in the seven track 2006 schedule.
And if that isn’t tough enough the KISS title will be decided in
competition with the MSCS regulars.
This annual match-up is one grand opportunity for race fans to watch
drivers line-up side by side and shoot into the wide turns at Terre Haute in
quest of the proverbial number one spot in non-wing sprint car racing.
Terre Haute just may be the perfect level playing field for series
travelers to meet the various Hoosier race track regulars.
The King of Indiana Sprint series is now 6 season’s old and is
organized and conducted by the individual Indiana sprint car race track
promoters. The new promoter for the
Action Track is Dave Allison and he will be hosting this show as his first
endeavor at Terre Haute.
The top five drivers in KISS Points will share in the $4200 Point Fund.
MSCS is also in it’s sixth season of racing and nearing the mid way
point on the 2006 schedule. MSCS
drivers will earn points for a co-sanctioned event.
The top five in points in the current
MSCS Standings heading into Terre Haute are Alex Shanks, Hud Cone, Kevin
Briscoe, Jerry Ruble, and Kyle Wissmiller.
The top five drivers in the
KISS Points’ Standings after the Paragon race Saturday night June 24th
are Jon Stanbrough, Jonathan Vennard, Chris Windom, Justin Marvel, and
Kevin Briscoe. Vennard and Windom
are also in the Top Ten in MSCS points.
Briscoe won the KISS feature at Paragon.
He already has 2 MSCS wins to his credit this season.
Stanbrough won the Terre Haute KISS race in 2004 and has two KISS wins
earlier this season. Levi Jones won
last year’s challenge! The race
happens for real Saturday night! Teams
will not qualify but draw for heat race starting spots.
And then the top two finishers in each heat will re-draw for their
feature starting spots. Drivers
will be racing all night from the drop of the first green flag!
