February 4, 2005...Henderson, KY...The
Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series has a full schedule of 14 special events
at tracks located in the three adjoining states of Indiana, Illinois, and
Kentucky. Barry Boone, the MSCS
Series Director, is pleased to announce an appealing schedule that is
highlighted with races of varying distances and attractive purses.
As previously announced, the season opener will be on Saturday April 8th
at the Terre Haute Action Track. Action
then resumes in May and June with 3 appearances at Tri-State Speedway in
Haubstadt, In., beginning on May 7th.
The Memorial Day Classic is on May 28th.
The June 3rd feature race at Tri-State will mark the return of
a 100 lapper for Sprint Cars at the track.
Both the Terre Haute Action track and Tri-State Speedway will host major
sprint car events that will be co-sanctioned.
MSCS drivers will compete in the annual MSCS/ KISS Challenge on July 1st
at Terre Haute. During Labor Day
weekend on Saturday September 2nd, USAC and MSCS drivers are destined
to meet for the first time in a true wheel to wheel showdown. The best of both
sanctioning bodies will bring it on! Drivers
can tune up at Tri-State at an earlier August 12th MSCS race.
Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, IL, will host the MSCS Series on June 10th.
The MSCS brand of extreme sprint car racing returns to the facility after
a short absence. Another appearance
is scheduled at Lincoln on August 19th.
Three tracks are new to the MSCS Schedule this season.
Bloomington Speedway became the sixth different track to schedule a race
with August 25th marking the initial appearance of the MSCS drivers
at this revered sprint car facility.
Western Kentucky Speedway at Nebo, west of Madisonville, hosts the
Kentucky Sprint Championship on August 5th. The
track’s high banked 3/8’s mile facility will present a new and unknown
challenge for MSCS campaigners who will all be making a first visit.
X-Plex Extreme Competition Park at Portland, IN, will welcome the MSCS
fold on June 24th and again on September 16th.
Both of these races pay $5,000 to win and will be contested on the middle
3/8s’ mile oval. Three new tracks
are under construction at the complex and expected to be finished in time for a
complete season of racing.
The second annual Hoosier Sprint Nationals will pay $10,000 to win and be
held at Tri-State Speedway on July 29th, a Saturday night.
That purse is tops for the 14 races in the series that promises to pay
over $ 45,000 to the winning drivers over the course of the season.
