February 3, 2005...Henderson, KY. The first
completed driver's application to arrive at the Midwest Sprint Car Series'
office for the upcoming 2006 season was received
from veteran driver Jerry Ruble of Vincennes, IN. Ruble finished in the
runner-up spot
in points last season after his third quest for an MSCS National Championship.
This season Jerry has as his ultimate goal the 2006 series title. The
Purdue University trained
engineer has a plan!
Ruble has already secured a brand new car to drive with
the continued support of his
parents and car owners, Nelson and Miriam Ruble. The new Stealth was
purchased this
winter in Indianapolis and the other car, a J & J chassis, will be kept as a
backup car for
the Ruble Oil Team. With a new car and a current license Jerry is
preparing for the season opener in Terre Haute at the Action Track on April 8th.
He also expects to make
use of the Saturday afternoon practice session at Terre Haute the week before,
April 1st.
The 39 year old pilot has been behind the wheel for a
total of 14 seasons. The last
three of those have been devoted to the touring MSCS Series. All three
years represent
an ascending ladder of success. Jerry Ruble was fourth overall in points
in 2003, he
stepped up to third in 2004, and overcame some set backs to finish second last
season.
The next step in ascending order would be the 2006 MSCS National Title.
Jerry Ruble took a couple of seasons off from sprint
cars and ran an open wheel
modified car. He had the only modified to make every feature at Terre
Haute in 2002. All those laps around the big half mile was time well spent.
Ruble now sees the Action Track as his favorite track. His explanation is
simple. "It is big and it is fast!" And in 2006 Jerry
Ruble expects to go even faster. The 'engineer' is set to rumble.
