BRANDON PETTY TAKES THE CHECKERED IN CHAMPIONSHIP FORM AT THE LAWRENCEBURG SPEEDWAY |

July 24, 2006 –
2005 Lawrenceburg Speedway Sprint Car Track Champion, Brandon Petty, returned
to Victory Lane at The Lawrenceburg Speedway for the 4th time this season,
after a hard fought battle with #3X Derek Franks, who attempted to
spoil Petty's splendors.
Petty overtook early race leader, #16 Rodney Stone, on lap 3, utilizing
the lane he's become famous for. Petty's top shelf acrobatics proved to
be successful, with the #11x maintaining the lead position with apparent ease.
However, the #3X of Derek Franks, had his eyes on the prize and would not be
intimidated by Petty's prowess on the cushion.
Franks took to the extreme low groove, rolling his #3X carefully around the
infield tire markers. In no time, Franks was side by side with Petty.
Lap after lap, the duo would duel, exchanging the lead in various corners of
the race track, with Franks besting Petty at the flag stand on laps 18-20.
In the final 5 laps, Petty would keep the Jeff Walker owned #11X out front,
crossing the checkered in the top spot. Hot on his tail, Franks would
finish 2nd, followed by the #3T of Tony Beaber, #2C Tim Spindler and #7A of
rookie 15 year old, Dakoda Armstrong, rounding out the top 5.
