TIM SPINDLER "KNOCKS OFF THE RUST" AND SHINES BRIGHT AT THE LAWRENCEBURG SPEEDWAY |

Lawrenceburg, Indiana 6/18/06...Tim Spindler, who recently referred to himself as "rusty" after
returning to the seat of a Sprint Car for the 2006 season, rebounding from several
years of retirement, knocked off the rust and polished off the victory at The
Lawrenceburg Speedway in the Hank Byram owned #2C. Spindler, who
dominated the event and lead every lap, was chased to the checkered by Brad
Sweet, Kevin Briscoe, Ted Hines and Tony Beaber.
Spindler's night would start off bittersweet, drawing a tail end starting
position in his heat race. Spindler, would charge to the front of his
heat, but incidental contact with another competitor that would knock that
driver out of the race, would make Spindler's 2nd place finish, one of
mixed emotions. Things would look up for the Columbus, Indiana driver,
as his 2nd place heat finish that made him eligible for the redraw in
Feature starting position, would garner an outside front row starting spot.
At the drop of the green flag, it was clear that Spindler was the man to beat,
piloting his #2C on the cushion of the 1/4 mile oval. Spindler would stretch
out to a huge lead, with the #12 of Ted Hines in tow. A hand full of race
cautions would allow the drivers to line back up on the tail of the #2C, but
Spindler was not giving an inch, with each restart finding Spindler continuing
to dominate the field. With a fierce battle for the 2nd-6th place spots
underway, the 2nd place position changed hands several times, with Hines, #3T
Tony Beaber, #49 Troy Link and #3J Brad Sweet, all having a crack at Spindler,
but none would pose a legitimate threat, as Spindler was simply unstoppable.
Tim Spindler's emotional victory marked the 6th different winner in 7 races at
The Lawrenceburg Speedway.
The SK Construction Sprint Cars will return to action at The Lawrenceburg
Speedway for "Kids Night" on Saturday, June 24th. Children
presenting a report card with a B Average or better will be admitted free to
The Speedway with a paying adult. Kids bike races, activities, driver
autograph sessions and family fun will be on tap for the entire evening, with
