The Legendary Lawrenceburg Speedway Kicks Off The 2006 Season on Saturday April 8th. |

April 4, 2006 – The roar of engines will return to the Ohio River valley on Saturday
April 8th as the Lawrenceburg Speedway will kick off their 2006 season,
with opening night including Non-Wing Sprints, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Pro
Stocks competition.
2006 will be a shining season for The Lawrenceburg Speedway, with several
projects underway to improve the racing experience for both fans and
competitors. One notable change is the increased payoff in all
divisions, with Sprint Cars paying $1400 to win and $200 to start, Modifieds
$600 to win and $90 to start, Super Stocks $400 to win and $50 to start, and
Pure Stocks $200 to win and $30 to start.
Tom Wieck, promoter of Lawrenceburg Speedway remarks, "I'm doing
everything I can this year to take care of both my drivers and fans. For
my drivers, the increase in pay is just one part of it, as I also intend to
provide the drivers who run at my track an increased level of personal
promotion and exposure, hopefully that will help them get their names out
there, which should be beneficial to landing sponsors etc. As for the
fans, this year they'll see more than just races when they come to The Burg,
we've got a lot of things in place that will give the fans a unique experience
each and every night. I think as the season goes on, drivers and fans
will see that all of the staff at The Burg has a renewed commitment and
dedication to those who support Lawrenceburg Speedway. This isn't really
about re-inventing the wheel, because we at Lawrenceburg Speedway value
the tradition of short track racing. Instead, the focus this year is really
just getting back to the basics. The things we all love about this kind
of racing is the interaction of drivers and fans, the sense of community and
the competition. Somewhere along the way, the sport as a whole has lost
it's foundation, so I'm committed to re-establishing that at The Lawrenceburg
Speedway."
Catch the opening night action at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, April
8th. Pit Gates open at 4:00pm $25, Grandstands open at 5:00pm, Adults
$12, Kids ages 11-15 $5, ages 7-10 $1, and ages 6 and under free. Hot
