May 22,
2006 –
Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif. extended his USAC/CRA Sprint Car point lead over Cory Kruseman to 39 points over the weekend and has his sights set on this Saturday night’s “Salute to Indy” event at the 1/2-mile Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.
Gardner and Kruseman have sprinted away from the rest of the field in the standings and have stamped themselves as the favorites for the PAS annual.
Gardner, whose qualifying prowess in 2005 was nothing short of sensational, has raised that bar this year, recording a phenomenal nine FQs in 10 appearances! He’ll try to extend that impressive feat as well Saturday night.
Although Gardner was the fastest qualifier for last year’s “Salute to Indy,” Kruseman is the defending race winner!
