June 10, 2006...
He has been oh so close and oh so fast all season long, this time the
"rookie" was not to be denied as "Pretty Boy" Rusty Dixon
who started 11th on the field methodically picked off the competition to take
the lead on lap 21 of the 30 lap event from Troy Decaire on Saturday night at
the Charlotte County Speedway in Central Florida Wingless Sprint action, Dixon
never looked back at that point and took his first career win in a Sprint Car,
the victory was especially sweet for car owner Carla Rudolph who was
celebrating her birthday. Decaire in the George Rudolph #68 would hold on
for second over point leader Scott Adema in #67, Jimmy Alvis #21 and Charlie
Ladner #39. The event was slowed just once when Scott Rocchio brought out a
yellow on lap 24. The Central Florida Wingless Sprints return to
Charlotte County for their next event on Saturday July 1.
