January 5, 2006...The
California Asphalt Sprintcar Association will return to Anderson California’s
Shasta Raceway Park after a one-year absence on the racing calendar.
CASA
and SRP general manager, George Wade agreed to two dates of racing, an early
spring and a late summer program, to bring CASA sprint cars in for the only
visits sprinters will appear at the immaculate one three-eighths paved speedway.
“We
were sorry we couldn’t run dates at Shasta last season due to scheduling
constraints” said CASA President and CEO Scott Clough, “But we’re real
excited to return. It’s a first-rate facility and those CASA teams who
haven’t visited here yet are in for a treat.”
CASA
race scheduling, expected to be a minimum of 14 events, is continuing with
Shasta, Madera, and Altamont having made race date commitments, however exact
dates must be finalized. Other tracks have expressed interest in hosting CASA
events for 2006 and those offers will be reviewed by the CASA board after the
general membership meeting in February.
