August 30, 2005....This Friday and Saturday
September 2-3, the final events of the 2005 Bandit/VRA Grand Slam Series will
take place at Ventura Raceway at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.The weekend
starts off on Friday night with qualifications for the 360 sprinters, heat races
for the Western States Dwarf Cars, a qualifying race for dwarf cars that will
seed ten cars to their Saturday main event and a stand alone main event for
sprint cars that will feature the top five Bandit drivers in their season points
who are in attendance and the top five VRA drivers in season points in
attendance with twelve added starters from Friday's qualifications.
They will run a 30 lap race that will pay a normal VRA
purse. It is a non points event that has no bearing on Saturdays final event in
the Bandit/VRA four race series that has run at Hanford, Santa Maria and
Bakersfield so far.
On Saturday the dwarf cars will run their semi mains to
transfer their final cars to their feature and the sprints will run their heat
races lined up by Friday's qualifying speeds, their semis and their main event,
which will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start in the 22 car field.
The pit gate will open at 1:00pm on Friday with driver's
meeting at 3:30 and cars will go on the track at 4:00pm for warm-ups and hot
laps. Qualifying will follow hot laps.
On Saturday we will follow a similar time format, with the
exception that there wil be no qualifying. On track at 4:00pm followed by racing
after warm-ups and hot laps. A more detailed format will be posted on raceday.
Front gate for spectators will open at 4:00pm on each day.

Friday:
Adults: $10.00, Sr/Military/Jr: $5.00,Kids 7-12: $5.00, with Kids 6 & Under
Free
Saturday:
Adults: $14.00, Sr/Military/Jr.: $11.00, Kids 7-12: $5.00 with kids 6 &
under Free
Pit passes are $30.00 each day
