The second annual Roger McCluskey Classic, sanctioned by the Sprint Car Racing
league at USA Park has been right in the middle of the nations best
weather! Dry and 70 degree weather has been predicted for the nations top
New Year's Day sprint car race.
Damion Gardner finishing a close second last year driving the Ron Chaffin
Sprinter has entered this year, planning on taking home the prestigious
Roger McCuskey Classic trophy.
Other entries have been Jason Tanner from Albuquerque, New Mexico driving the
Bill Richards Sprinter, and Jon Taylor also from Albuquerque, last years NMMRA
Sprint Car State Driving Champion.
Jason Tanner won the his first SCRL Southwest Sprint Car Series Main
Event at Las Cruces, New Mexico last April with the first restricted 410 cu.
in. engine win in the three year history of the rule of the series. The Sprint
Car Racing League has an engine rule that allows 360 cu. in. engines
and 410 cu. in. to race against each other with a provided restrictive insert
in the injector stacks.
