Track promoter Pat Robley from USA Race Park in Tucson, Arizona has announced
that he has reduced the Entry Fee on Saturday May 28th, The Aloha Shoot-out from
$75 to $50, and that the number of cars starting the Feature events will
be 22 cars instead of 20. Robley also has indicated that if he get's a decent
front gate he will increase the number of cars starting the features to 24
cars on the 28th and 29th. Southwest Officials would also like to encourage
participants to enter by mail as early as possible to receive an additional
$10 discount, entry forms and applications for membership can be obtained on
line at http://www.scrlracing.com/
the official web site for the Southwest Sprint Car Series. Entries arriving
prior to May 24th will recieve an additional $10 discount.
Participants should pay the Entry Fee at the Pit Gate as they arrive at
the event. The pit gate fee will be $25 for SCRL members and $30 for
non-members. SCRL will have Officials at a tent taking membership at
the pit gate as you arrive.
" We have to understand that the higher cost of promoting events in these
times, insurance, advertising, medical services, labor, respectable purse
structure, and general expenses has made these entry fee's a necessary evil for
the promoters so that they have a positive cash flow on special
events such as this event", said Hal Burns the Southwest Sprint Car
Series Race Director. Burns also said, "In time as our sport grows and
develops these fee's may be reduced or go away completely, its a matter of a
positive cash flow for the tracks that provide us a place to race at, and
the fans a place to watch us do our thing"!
