Santa Maria, CA - 7/23/05...Wild 106 FM/Bandit Sprint Cars, Lombard's Auto Sound IMCA Modifieds and CDCRA Dwarf Cars saw action Saturday night at Santa Maria Speedway.

Peter Murphy, of Sydney, Australia, had the field covered after setting fast time of 14.072 seconds and winning an 8 lap heat race. After passing Davey Pombo near the mid-point of the 30 lap main event, Murphy took himself out of victory circle when he spun while going too low to put a lap on a back marker. Starting at the back of the pack, Murphy managed to move back up to fourth place in the 10 laps remaining. Pombo got the win, his second of the season, with Bobby Elliott second and Rusty Carlile third. Fifth went to Santa Maria's Darren Davis and Elliott and Carlile captured the other two heats.

Joe Antonetti atoned for his loss in the April 30 Modified main event when his transmission failed three laps from the finish of the 30 lap run. Antonetti led early, but lost that lead when Brian Cass went by on lap 7. Ten laps later Antonetti was back in front and stayed there  for the duration. Jason Selvidge was second, local driver David Addamo third, Bob Williamson fourth and Garrett Steitz fifth. Antonetti, Brad Pounds and Mike Brumit took first place in heat race action.

Gary Ebeling placed first in the 20 lap Dwarf Car feature event to win the Senior division while second place Carl Behmer was first in the Pro ranks. Third went to Pro Randy Throne, fourth to Senior Mike Van Acker and fifth to another Senior Gordon Brand. Ebeling won the 8 lap Senior heat and Throne the Pro heat.

Next Saturday night Century 21 Hometown Realty Late Model Stocks, KKFX Fox 11 Street Stocks, Crossroads Community Church Factory Stocks, Campus Motorsports and Powder Puff racing will be on tap. Gates open at four, with qualifying at six and racing at seven.
