(4/30/05 - Santa Maria, CA) ...Five divisions made for a long night Saturday at Santa Maria Speedway. *Danny Sheridan, of Santa Maria, won a hard fought victory over Davey Pombo in the 20 lap Wild 106/Bandit Sprint Car feature with Evan Suggs placing third. Sheridan and Pombo captured 8 lap heat races and Pombo set fast time of 13.420 seconds. *BCRA Midgets and Midget Lites were on hand with the 20 lap Midget main going to Robby Flock, of Temecula, followed by Brian Gard and Josh Lakatos. *The Midget Lites main was shortened to 17 laps due to a hard flip that brought out a long red flag period and sent Lonnie Lopez, of Tulare, to the hospital for observation. Earlier, during qualifying, Arroyo Grande's Eric Pace also flipped and took a ride to the hospital. Both drivers are expected to be okay. *When the checkers did wave, David Maples, of Sebastopol, had the victory with Tyler Franklin and Sam Corso second and third. Eight lap heat races were won by: Matt Mitchell and Flock, in the midget ranks, and by Maples, Franklin and Corso in the lites. The midget fast time, 13.471 seconds, was set by Rayan Kaplan. *Santa Maria's Michael Frazier won his first career 20 lap Crossroads Community Church Factory Stock feature event. Point leader Gary Rayburn, Jr. was second and second in points Dale Sylvester followed him home. Frazier and Rayburn won 8 lap heat races as well. *The 30 lap Lombards/IMCA Modified main event was taken by Brian Cass, of Livermore, who scored the victory with a late race pass of Joe Antonetti who controlled the event for most of the run. After the race it was learned that Antonetti's rig was jumping out of gear the last seven circuits. Brad Pounds finished second and Antonetti held on for third.
