17, 2005, PERRIS, CA) Another
group of entries for the November 3rd, 4th and 5th
10th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals, presented by Temecula Valley
Pipe & Supply, has arrived at the Perris Auto Speedway office.
Included
among the latest entries are 2000 Oval Nationals Champion Tony Jones of Norco,
California and Tucson, Arizona’s Jerry Coons Jr.
Jones is ranked 11th in USAC/CRA points and is looking for his
first win of 2005. Coons, who won the prestigious Belleville Midget Nationals on
July 30th, will be behind the wheel of the
famous Hoffman Racing/Dynamics #69 car. The
33 year-old Arizona Wildcats fan sits second in the USAC National Midget
standings and is 8th in USAC National Sprint Car series.
Third
generation driver Davey Pombo, of Kerman, California, who impressed PAS fans in
a few appearances this season, recently submitted his entry as did former Silver
Dollar Speedway champion Jason York of Chico, California.
Staying in the Northern portion of the state, San Jose’s Chris D’Arcy
has entered as well.
The
VRA duo of Rob Kershaw and Bill Camarillo, both from Ventura, California, are
among the latest entries as is former California Lightning Sprint Car champion
Greg Bragg of Visalia. Capistrano
Beach, California’s Ryan Devitt, a rookie who recently dazzled PAS fans with a
22nd to 10th run in the main event on September 17th,
has made it official and will be competing in his first ever Oval Nationals.
In
addition to the cars with drivers, two prestigious cars have been entered with
drivers to be named later. Mark
Alexander has sent in the paperwork for his popular silver
#4 and Sharon Jory has entered the #3x car as a teammate to 1997 Oval
Nationals Champion Rip Williams.
With
over two weeks to go, the field currently stands at 49 cars.
The early entry deadline is Saturday, October 22nd.
Entries received on or before October 22nd are $100.00.
Entries postmarked or received after the 22nd will be $250.00.
Absolutely no exceptions will be made!
The
Budweiser Oval Nationals will be three days of intense racing featuring the top
drivers from around the nation. It
is both a Valvoline USAC National Sprint Car Series and Valvoline USAC/CRA
Series points paying event. All
drivers will race all three nights. Thursday
and Friday’s programs will consist of qualifying, heat races and preliminary
night main events. Saturday’s
show will feature all main events starting with a D or C (depending on how many
cars enter) main and culminating with a $30,000.00 to win 50-lap A main event.

Auto Speedway is conveniently located on the freeway close Lake Perris
