(Chico, CA 8-14-05) Leave it to John Padjen
Motorsports to once again be the leading force in dirt track sprint car racing
in California and try something new. It was announced on Friday from the home
office in Roseville, CA that a two-day, non-wing spec sprint car show would take
place on October 14 and 15. This division is growing in popularity and early
indications point to an extremely big car count for this race.
The two-day show will offer over an $18,000 purse. On Friday night the main
event winner will receive $1,000. On Saturday night, the main event winner will
win $2,500. Just to start the A main, a driver will earn $150.00. There will be
22 spots available for the Saturday night final race. Second place will pay
$1,800 and third will pocket $1,200. In all, $11, 350.00 will be up for grabs in
the Saturday night main event.
The format will be similar to the Silver Cup Race of Champions that is held in
March at the Speedway. Friday night all cars will qualify and run in heat races.
The fastest 20 qualifiers will race in an invitational main event. Saturday
night will feature main events only. This format is subject to change as the
race approaches if necessary.
When more information becomes available it will be posted on
www.johnpadjenmotorsports.com. For more information contact the office at (916)

information about rules and regulations.
