Indianapolis,
IN – August 4, 2005 – The Lyn St.
James Foundation held their third annual “Women in the Winners Circle 2005”
in Indianapolis and invitee, California sprint car driver Jessica Helberg
proudly attended alongside other champion women drivers, such as Erin Crocker,
Sarah Fisher, Allison Duncan and Katherine Legge.
The luncheon celebrated more
than 30 women drivers who are successful in all forms of motorsports from
motorcycle, karting, stock cars, midgets and drifting.
Lyn St. James personally announced each woman’s racing history and
accomplishments as walked up on stage to be recognized by prominent audience
members. Among the audience was
NASCAR’s President Mike Helton, Busch car owner, DeLena Harvick, USAC
President, Rollie Helmling, USAC team owner and car builder, Bob East, Ford
Racing representatives and many other successful motorsports leaders who truly
support women in motorsports including the Lieutenant Governor of Indiana, Becky
Skillman.
Helberg’s five-day stay in
Indianapolis included her attendance at the USAC Silver Crown race at IRP where
she had opportunities to meet team owner Ray Evernham, driver Kasey Kahne,
2004 USAC Western Sprint Series Champion, Tony Hunt, Hoosier President, Rick
Gerhardt as well as other USAC affiliated personalities.
She also attended the World of
Outlaws race at Eldora Speedway, enjoyed the Busch series Kroger 200 at IRP and
finally closing out the weekend attending the Allstate 400 NASCAR cup race at
the Brickyard where she enjoyed a tour as a guest of Safety-Kleen
Corporation, 'the preferred provider of environmental services for every major
sanctioning body in racing'.
Helberg, with firm plans to
compete against the very drivers she so diligently followed this weekend,
arrived back home in California inspired and more focused on continually
improving her performance in her full-size, non-winged asphalt sprint car during
the remainder of the 2005 CASA season with plans to drive at least two USAC
shows before years end.

Jessica Helberg, 18 is racing a Consani built Chevy/Beast as a rookie in the
California Asphalt Sprint Car series. She
is supported by ADTS~ Alcohol and Drug Testing Services, Beck Law, Barndt’s
Welding, and Safety-Kleen. A former Outlaw dirt kart racer since age 12, she
aspires toward a professional career in motorsports.
