May 27, 2005 - Sprint Car Driver Jessica
Helberg celebrates her 18th birthday by racing 100-lap feature at
Champion Motor Speedway in
Carson City
,
Nevada this Memorial weekend.
Jessica Helberg finally turns
18 this month, still not old enough
to gamble at the Nevada state Capital, but eager to try her ‘lady luck’
at muscling her ADTS-Beck Law wingless sprint car to the front during the CASA
100 lap feature event Saturday night at Champion Motor Speedway.
Jessica has competed in two
CASA features so far this season and is very proud to have both be
top-ten finishes. Champion Motor Speedway in
Carson
will offer her a much more competitive endurance level race with 100 laps,
which she is excited to have before her.
Other excitement for Helberg
Motorsports recently, includes the continued partnership with Altamont Raceway
and Arena where Jessica was spotlighted on the weekly sports program,
“Altamont Speedweek”, and was invited to the May 16th Major Event
at the track where she chatted with NASCAR’s oldest registered racer, Dick
Carter.
The future holds even more for
one of the youngest and fastest female
California
sprint car drivers throughout the 2005 season.
Jessica will host a tent at the 2005 Nextel Cup Dodge/Save Mart 500 race
at Infineon Raceway in
Sonoma
,
California
on June 24-26. Be sure to stop by
the tent if you’re attending the race any of the three days and say Hi!
Jessica is honored to have been
invited to Indianapolis, Indiana by Lyn St. James to attend as a champion
driver, the Women in the Winner’s Circle-2005 a third annual benefit for the
Lyn St. James Foundation. Jessica
is thrilled to be included in such an outstanding group of women
drivers such as up and comer Erin Crocker who recently joined the Evernham
Motorsports program, Danica Patrick, IRL who will take the Indy green flag this
weekend in the fourth starting position, and aspiring Top Fuel star Melanie
Troxel who recently signed with Don Prudhomme Snake Racing team.
Even with Jessica’s senior
prom, 18th birthday behind her and high school graduation just three
short weeks away, she doesn’t skip a beat.
Between working on the car and testing, she and the Helberg Motorsports
team anxiously prepare for the next race looking for their first feature win.
