APRIL 26, 2005....The first ’05 season point race of the Central
California Racing Association’s Wingless Sprints will be at
Sacramento
Raceway
Park
on Friday, April 29, followed by a back to back race on Saturday, April 30 at
Chowchilla Speedway. Come out and watch the wingless warriors compete for
exciting, grass roots, open wheeled racing and fun family entertainment.
The CSRA roster includes the ’04 season defending
Champion Billy Garcia of Sheldon, Elk Grove’s Rookie of the Year Mike Enos,
Bobby Bankson from Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove’s Scott Pierson, and
Sacramento’s Sam Fries.
There are two family racing teams competing this year: the
Nelson family of father Larry and son Steve, and the racing Emery teams, father
Dave, Sr., and sons Dave Jr., Don, and Doug.
Watch Citrus Heights’ young “Hot Rod” Patrick Russum
and rookie Greg Higginbotham from Orland compete with veterans Jack Clark of
Santa Rosa, “Smokey” Keith Shipherd from
Pleasant Hill
, and
West Sacramento
’s Phil Pedlar.

’s ¼ mile oval track is located on
Excelsior Drive
in
Sacramento
. Admission is $10.00 for adults, kids under 12 are free, racing starts at
7PM
and will also feature a 50-50 raffle.
Chowchilla Speedway is a 1/3 mile oval clay track located
at the Chowchilla fairgrounds, and will feature kid’s lawn mower races.
