October 24, 2005...Josh Ford won his
first ever Valvoline USAC/CRA sprint car race this week at Perris Auto Speedway.
He won the Snap-on Tool Trophy Dash in the Berry Pack Agricultural
Packaging –Temecula Valley Pipe& Supply, Edson, Downing # 73 before
starting 7th in the main event. Josh thanked his crew and family for
this win. Ford was followed by Tony Jones, R.J. Johnson, Danny Sheridan and
Charles Davis Jr.
Damion Gardner set his record 20th fast time,
but had to borrow Kevin Urton’s car in the feature when his broke after an
opening lap melee which involved 14 cars. He finished 13th and still
leads Cory Kruseman by 59 points in the championship race. Former leader, Rip
Williams, had throttle linkage problems in the main finishing 15th
and dropping to third in points.
A strong 51 car field came to tune up for the upcoming
#30,000 to win Oval Nationals, a week after the 15th annual Wagsdash
at Ventura Raceway on October 29th.
